More people are now recognizing the importance of having protection dogs with them especially if they live alone like older people who spend their retired days in their retirement property. Having one gives them a piece of mind that something would be there to protect them from harm. However, though there are a lot of dog breeds in the world only some make good Protection Dogs for Sale. Not all breeds have the ability or skill to become protection dogs. Their genetic makeup just doesn’t make the cut and even if the trainer is good, they just can’t be trained as well as breeds good for protecting people. Question now is, what are good breeds for protection dogs?
One of the requirements for a breed to make a good protection dog is the intelligence. The dog must be smart enough to learn. Also, it must have a strong prey and defense drive. This is what sets them apart from other smart dogs that don’t make good Personal Protection Dogs. A great example would be German shepherd and Rottweiler. German Shepherds are good sniffers and they really have strong personality. Rottweilers have really strong bite and can really protect their owners. Doberman Pinschers and Airedale Terriers also make great protection dogs. Dobermans are intelligent dogs that are more aggressive to strangers but less to owners which makes them great protection dogs. Airedales are really cute and intelligent which makes them good family dogs especially with children. They are also swift and may be aggressive if they needed to.
